Finite elements project : Study of an industrial frame

During my first exchange semester at the University of Stavanger, I got to study more in detail the finite elements methods. As part of that course, we got to practice with a project with the aim to study the frame of an industrial building with an extreme loads case (high velocity wind, snow, and weight of the roof material).

The first part consists in compute the values of loads. For that, I decided to do some simulation of fluid dynamics using Ansys Fluent to have an idea of the load from the wind exposure.

The second part consists in describing the geometry of the building in order to adjust the parameters on which we could play with.

Finally, we got to simulate the behavior of the structure with the finite element method using ANSYS Mechanical APDL and RDM7.
